On March 25, 2021, Sony pictures and Playstation Productions announced that Ghost Of Tsushima is currently in development, with John Wick Director Chad Stahelski at the helm.
Ghost Of Tsushima is getting a movie because its the rare video game based on original property that has become a massive hit in recent years. It is one of the best video games of 2020 and one of the best play station games.
That’s a big potential audience for the movie and also the movie needs to win over a lot of fans.
Premiere
It’s too early for a release date to be set but we can always guess. The Ghost Of Tsushima will be the second venture between Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions after the Uncharted movie, which is is post production currently. But if Sony and PlayStation use the general time table then, that would put the window at March – June 2022 but again Ghost Of Tsushima has not found its star yet.
Cast
No casting announcements has been made yet. Butt even if its way too early to speculate as who will be in the movie but still we can guess which characters from the game will be there in the movie.
Jin Sakai will be there for sure as he is the main protagonist of the video game. The main villains of the movie like Genghis Khan, Khotun Khan and the Mongol General would be there. Jin’s Uncle and Overlord, Lord Shimura also would be on the possible characters.
Plot
The Ghost Of Tsushima’s plot would include the Mongol Invasion of Japan in 1274 CE and it will probably be told from the perspective of the games main character, Jin Sakai who will be Tshushima’s only hope in stopping the Mongols. Jin recruits several warriors from the island to start a Guerrilla war on the numerically superior enemy.
