To express yourself, profile pictures are a great way for people to identify you. However, there are higher chances that they could also be downloaded and misused by others for different and dangerous purposes. To resolve this problem, WhatsApp has already come up with the ability to ban downloading the profile pictures before but still people were able to take a screenshot of your profiles pictures till now. With the latest beta release, WhatsApp is now rolling out a new feature where you will not be able to even take a screenshot of someone’s profile picture.

The most recent WhatsApp beta version #2.24.4.25 for Android has introduced significant privacy-related changes, as reported by WABetaInfo. Taking screenshots of users’ profile images is now prohibited by the app. By making this adjustment, you can increase security even further by prohibiting unauthorized users from taking your profile picture.

Nonetheless, this is a very big step towards user privacy is a volatile and big platform like WhatsApp in India. This loophole allowed others to user someone’s pictures for malicious uses where fake identities were created and people were harassed very often.

However, coming up with a solution of this problem is a big step, still it is not a permanent thing or solution because people still can take a picture of your display photo from some other phone.
